Pensacola and Perdido Bays Estuary Program
Do you love talking to people about environmental issues? Do you have a passion for education or community engagement? Join our Coastal Ambassador team! Coastal Ambassadors assist staff with educating residents, visitors and businesses about key watershed issues. Typical shifts include tabling at community festivals, engaging boaters and anglers at local boat ramps and assist with youth and family education programs across the watershed. As part of our Coastal Ambassador team, Panhandle Manatee Ambassadors help educate boaters and anglers about manatees in our area and how to be manatee safe while on the water! They share information about the importance of seagrass and how to report manatee sightings through the Dauphin island Sea Lab's Manatee Sighting Network. No formal educator experience? No problem! We'll provide the information and techniques needed to be an effective communicator and educator! Volunteers must be 18 years of age.
